Dream Life Mission Statement

To reach our high school and college age youth for Christ with a message of rehabilitation and restoration through relationship building, character development, education, training and an intentional focus on assisting them toward finding and fulfilling their purpose. John 10:10 Jesus says these words (Joh 10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 14:6 says “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:” 1 John 5:12 says, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” By these scriptures we understand that true life is only found in Jesus. We commit to Jesus, our “Dream Life”. We will live for Him and die for Him. As in the words of Paul in Galations 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Dream Life, founded by Eddie James, has home base in Alabama with visions of having multiple homes across America. The program also has office facilities in Florence, AL and Macon, GA. The Dream Life program was inspired by Arizona Teen Challenge under the leadership of Snow and Ladelle Peabody. Eddie worked for Phoenix Teen Challenge for eight years. Much of the methods and concepts of Arizona Teen Challenge are used in Dream Life. Dream Life’s vision is to restore broken youth who have lost hope and their sense of purpose in life. Dream Life takes in youth whose issues range from drugs and violence to cutting and suicide. Dream Life normally has approximately 30 – 40 in the program, half of which are staff and the others are either interns or students. In the future, Dream Life’s potential is unlimited and one days looks forward to housing hundreds and hundreds of people in multiple homes. Dream Life’s program involves six main values and principles:

  • Encounter With God
  • Character Development
  • Work Program
  • Education and Training
  • Relationship Development
  • Faith
